Easy way to cook Churros

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
  2. Add water/milk and vanilla extract to the well. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth (about 5 minutes).
  4. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into 10-12cm long tubes, leaving one end open.
  6. Place a piping bag tip at the open end of each tube.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer until it reaches 170°C (not too hot to prevent breaking).
  8. Pipe dough into preheated oil, ensuring churros are about 10cm long.
  9. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. Toss fried churros in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon or drizzle with honey for extra sweetness.

Pro version

  1. For professional results, use an industrial fryer and fine mesh basket to prevent churros from breaking.
  2. Experiment with fillings like Nutella, banana cream, or caramel apple for unique flavors.
  3. Offer a variety of coatings, such as rainbow sprinkles or coconut sugar for dietary preferences.

Tips / Plating:

  1. Placing churros on a elegant plate with a dusting of powdered sugar and a touch of cinnamon creates a visually appealing dessert.
  2. Consider serving them in a cone shape with a side of fruit salad or whipped cream for a complete dessert
    experience.
  3. Serve warm with dipping sauces like chocolate ganache or fruit compote.
  4. Arrange on plates with a drizzle of caramel or icing sugar for presentation.
